Arts In Context taping of Bill Carter and the Blame
DATE: Friday, May 18th
TIME: 8 pm (doors open at 7 pm)
LOCATION: KLRU’s Studio 6A, original home to Austin City Limits, 26th and Dean Keaton

Arts In Context brings together an historic line up including Denny Freeman, Will Sexton, Dony Wynn, Cindy Cashdollar, Andy Salmon, David Holt and Glover Gill to perform some of Carter’s most memorable songs. A special limited edition poster will be available for sale for $10. The poster is designed by Bill Perkins to commemorate this historic event. Proceeds benefit KLRU-TV, Austin PBS. Special thanks to Live Oak Brewery, Tito’s Vodka and Moonshine Sweet Tea.

This is Bill CARTERS’ 1994 CD…”CITY OF THE VIOLET CROWN”…..This CD features some of Austin, Texas’ fiinest musicians……most notably DENNY FREEMAN on guitar….here are 10 great original tunes by Bill and wife Ruth……..a version of “WHY GET UP” by Bill, the multi million selling tune written by Bill and Ruth is priceless, with harmony by Miss Lou Ann Barton, one of Texas’ finest female vocalists…..this song was first recorded by The Fabulous Thunderbirds in the late 80′s, and again by Robert Palmer in 2003, on his last CD “DRIVE”…….a true Bill and Ruth classic that has been recorded by numerous others as well……..the variety of tunes on this collection is amazing………CHECK IT OUT!!!!

This is BILL CARTERS’ first CD from 1985…download only.no hard copies at this time…….This Cd features soild, smokin’ rock and roll in its truest form……….Jimmie Vaughans electric guitar on this CD is on fire.very cool stuff…….The original version of “WILLIE THE WIMP” is on this CD…..the version STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN heard and absolutely loved, and so recorded on his “LIVE ALIVE” CD..All original songs on this CD by Bill and wife Ruth E. Carter are truly classic…CHECK IT OUT!!!
